Message from the Associate Grand Chaplain, I. Jack A. Holloway – Week 34

35 He has filled them with skill to do all manner of work of the engraver and the designer and the tapestry maker, in blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen, and of the weaver–those who do every work and those who design artistic works. Exodus 35:35

1 Of the blue, purple, and scarlet thread they made garments of ministry, for ministering in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD had commanded Moses. Exodus 39:1

Companions,
Our M.I.G.M. has reminded us to be proud of our purple. When we look in the rear-view mirror of time and see the ancient beginnings our fraternal ritual is founded on, we realize that the Great Creator of the Universe planned, designed and enabled it all. We are told that Masonry is a system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols. Our blue, purple and scarlet are part of the symbols to be explained and passed on to our new and future companions. Let us be proud of them.

Eternal LORD, give us the faith to know that You are the designer and creator of all that is, and that Your Word is given to us that we may have an insight into the past, present and future. Amen.
