10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;” Psalm 46:10
Companions,
This is the time of year we have conditioned ourselves to busy days and committed schedules. The end of the year holiday events, travel arrangements and lots of installations we get to attend and take part in; and all added to our normal workaday world. It sometimes takes time and effort to decompress from a hectic schedule and keep our priorities intact. In the Royal Master Degree we learn that at high twelve it was the custom of our G.M.H.A. to enter the Sanctum Sanctorum and offer up his devotions to Deity. It would do us well to emulate him Companions, whatever time or place we choose. Let us not lose our spirit of worship and our ability to withdraw inwardly to meet with God in silence.
Oh what a joy it is!
To think the thought, to breathe the Name
Earth has no higher bliss.

Almighty God, plant in my heart the desire and ability to be still and feel your presence. Amen.
