Message from the Associate Grand Chaplain, I. Jack A. Holloway – Week 19

2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

Companions,
In each generation complaints arise about how the new generation has declined in their morals, ethics and respect for people, rules and traditions. It is not new; Socrates was condemned for leading the youth of Greece astray. If one thinks there is no absolute standard of right and wrong each ‘new’ perceived problem becomes a social experiment to write our own rules and redefine morality, even though Solomon tells us there is nothing new under the sun. These new standards seem to cater more to our lustful interests and passion for pleasure than to the truths and precepts God has revealed to us through his inspired word. It is the results of the ‘seems right to me’ reasoning that we should not conform to, but renew our minds by renewing our biblical knowledge of God’s idea of right and wrong.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me, that I may discern what is good, pleasing, and perfect in your sight. Amen.
