Message from the Associate Grand Chaplain, I. Jack A. Holloway – Week 4

And Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded: `Let an omer of it be kept throughout your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.'” Exodus 16:32

Companions,
Our Grand Council Mission Statement tells us that as guardians it is our peculiar duty to preserve those sacred treasures which are ours through masonic heritage. Each time we open and “attend at the altar” we open the Bible to Exodus 16:32 which describes preserving the sacred treasure of an omer of Manna as a reminder to future generations of how the Lord fed the Israelites for forty years in the wilderness. One of our greatest assurances of the reliability of God’s promises is to look back and see what he has done for us in the past, not only in our own lives but throughout time. As we observe the opened Bible each meeting we should be proud to be preserving the memories of these sacred treasures throughout our own generation.

Heavenly Father, we ask you for our daily bread and you graciously give us so much more. As we observe the daily blessings we receive may it result in thankful praise to thee. Amen.
